What Would I Rather Be Doing?

What Would I Rather Be Doing?

My interests vary far and wide. Let me say from the beginning that I HATE disco and country western music, both of which are made for idiots.

  • I like to spend as much time as I can with my wife

an excerpt of which appeared in the February, 1995 issue of Computer Life magazine. If you would like to read that excerpt, I have scanned those two pages for you. Just click on the following two links:

Or, if you want, read the following horribly embellished version of our story written by a student at Boston University. She probably has a wonderful future as a romance novel writer but don't let her near the truth or she'll butcher it!

  • I like to listen to and make music. I am a blues harmonica player and have sat in with several different bands in my life, including Eddie "The Chief" Clearwater and Southside Denny, both from Chicago, and the Taz band, a Des Moines favorite.
  • I like to travel to different places, especially by car as one sees more that way than from the air.
  • I like to do things which challenge me, such as climbing mountains ( not so steep yet).
  • I enjoy good food as long as it is good. It could be French or it could be a barbeque, so long as it is good.
  • I like pubs, preferably Irish with a musician or two playing Irish music. Guiness Stout is a MUST.
  • I like AMERICAN football very much and miss it here in Europe. The intent look I have on my face when watching it has endeared the expression "fooballhead" from my wife.
  • I enjoy playing netrek Netrek from time-to-time but the people who play are becoming VERY immature.
  • I enjoy philosophical discussions with my friends.
  • A good USENET flame war is always nice!
  • A page o' links!
